3 EASY Steps to prepare your car for the winter

Winter is right around the corner and the last thing you want to think about is being stranded on the side of the road in the COLD. There are things you can do now to avoid car related trouble down the road.

Below are 3 EASY steps to prepare your car for winter:

  1. Check out the vehicles battery. Once it starts getting cold, your battery will work 10x harder. Can you recall when you last had your battery and charging system looked at? This is important step that you do not want to overlook.

  1. Drain out and add new antifreeze. You only have to do this once every 12 months.  If you can’t remember the last time your antifreeze was changed, then now is the time toschedule an appointment for this to be completed.

  1. Inspect ALL of your tires. Winter in Texas certainly does fluctuate which also causes air pressure inside the tires to fluctuate. It is important to check your tires air pressure and tread depth as you never know when you will run into rain, sleet or snow on the road. Having your tires in top shape will help you control your vehicle in these conditions.

Preventative maintenance can enhance your safety and save you money from costly repairs. So make sure to prepare your vehicle for the winter with the 3 steps we discussed above!
